Bean the Pug Apprehended by Local Police, and the Mug Shot Brings Pure Joy

This past week, in Cape May, New Jersey, an unknown Pug was found loitering in a local citizen’s backyard. The Cape May police were called in to address the matter, and were expertly able to detain the Pug for questioning.

The lost Pug, later identified by her owners as Bean, was brought in to the police station for questioning, where police found an adorable way to help find her owners.

The Cape May police took a mugshot of Beans the Pug and posted it on their Facebook with a warning to other pups considering being naughty.

The Facebook post reads: “This is what happens when you run away from home. This guy was captured sneaking through yards on the 1300 block on New Jersey Avenue. #pugmug”

This Facebook post has been shared over 10,000 times since being posted on July 15, with over 1,600 comments. So it is no surprise that she was quickly identified, with the Cape May police posting an update later that same day:

Her owners quickly made their way to the police station to help their beloved Pug make bail and return home. The next day, Bean returned to thank the police officers and pay her bail in full with cookies. The Cape May police happily accepted the cookies as payment.

Hopefully, Bean has learned that a life of crime is no life at all.
