Dog rescue stories are always heartwarming—especially when they involve the entire neighborhood coming together to lend a paw. This was the case for a Jack Russell Terrier who was stuck under her home for over 30 hours.

According to ABC News, Luna, an 8-year-old Jack Russell Terrier in Centennial, Colorado, got herself stuck underneath her own house after chasing a rabbit. Luna’s owner, Anne Timmerman, says that she had no idea how to react, so the fire department was called in to help.

According to ABC News, the firefighters could hear Luna barking for help, and they worked for hours to rescue the Jack Russell Terrier. ABC News reports that “when fire crews realized the rescue was going to be more difficult than they anticipated, the technical rescue team from South Metro Fire came in and pulled out all of the stops, first cutting open Timmerman’s deck and then slicing through a concrete slab underneath the home.”

It took hours, but like most dog rescue stories, this one has a happy ending. ABC News says that “fire crews from three different agencies worked tirelessly to save the family dog that was trapped under their home for more than 30 hours.”

Neighbors, family, friends, animal control officers and even strangers all came to the Timmermans’ home to assist in any way they could during the entire rescue. After more than six hours of working to rescue Luna, she popped her head out, and they got her out from underneath the home.

According to ABC News, “Luna did take a trip to the vet to be checked out as a precaution.”
