Kitten Left To DIE At VETERINARIAN Hospital. Tech Smuggled Kitten Out To Me

A 7 to 8 week stray orange kitten ( we later named Sinbad ) was attacked and mauled by a pitbull,YET survived to tell you about it
(through me)! Bystanders screamed at the dog’s owner to force his dog to drop the kitten, or they would call police. Only then did the idiot owner pull the kitten from his dogs mouth.Of course the guy ran off with his dog.

The tiny kitten was taken by the bystanders to a Stockton animal Hospital where he lay for 3 days without aid .I kid you not. No treatment. We received a phone call from a worker at the hospital who whispered into the phone that the Veterinarian’s had not done anything for the kitten in the 2 – 3 days they had him. The hospital had called the animal control to pick up the kitten to have them put it down, so this emergncy hospital in Stockton Calfiornia didn’t want to even use the little bit of drugs they had themselves to put the kitten out of misery . They would let the kitten lay in pain and put off it’s death onto animal control. Disgusting!
This sickened me and would turn anyones stomach who loves animals..
I told the womam to bring the kitten to me.
I rushed him to my own Vet for full body xrays and pain meds. I cried when I saw the xrays showing his shattered leg bones. His leg was swollen and black from infection resulting from lack of medical care. Why stop infection and pain in an animal that will die in a few days?
Animal cruelity commited by the very people who are suppose to love aniamls VETERINARIANS!
My own Vet said the infection was so severe that amputation would be the choice but I opted for pain meds, two different antibiotics for a few days to see if the leg would start to heal. The kitten also had sustained deep puncture wounds to his chest but was breathing okay. The main concern was the swollen infected leg and the multiple broken bones in it. He could not have surgery with his leg in that condition. It was a daily battle for a week to wrap and rewrap the leg, massage and clean. After several days of meds and around the clock nursing care, the swelling went down and color came back to his leg.
Pin surgery is expensive and I couldn’t afford it so we had a regular Vet do the surgery after he consulted with a bone surgeon. It would cost closer to 1,000 rather then 3 to 5,000.00. It is sad that the kitten had to have second rate Vet care but I could not afford to pay more. NINE days after the attack he had his surgery.
Some of the broken bones were too small and had to be aligned as best as possible to heal on their own. Others were shattered and fragments removed. A pin was placed in the larger broken bone. In the long run “Sinbad” did lose a toe to gangrene, but he kept his leg. I bought him a splint for times he might jump too much and his mild limp worsens.
Today he is 2 years old and has a noticeable slight limp. He still is frightened of large dogs, but can you blame him?
Here is a movie of Sinbad 3 weeks after surgery. Doesn’t he look the picture of health? His leg sure isn’t bothering him! My choice to go against the Vet’s advise and not amputate ( cheaper to amputate) was a good one

How can anybody claim to be a veterinarian, yet care so little for a hurt kitten??? This baffles me!! You are an amazing person for saving this little life. The vets that did nothing should be stripped of their licenses to practice. Can you imagine if a human doctor did the same thing?

Wow, that kitten still has anger issues playing with the larger cat like that. JUST KIDDING.

I ended up paying 3500.00 for my pug who ate a wash cloth and impacted her intestines. She ended up having 9 inches of intestines cut out due to it being dead from lack of blood. She is still going strong 4 years later. She is one huge cuddle bucket.

Some things are just money well spent.

pitbulls can be nice dogs too you just have to take care of it. most people beat their pitbulls to make them go crazy on other people

That poor Kitten! How can the vets just do that to a kitten who nearly got killed!

I’m so happy that he’s doing so well. And he definately looks lively doesn’t he? XD

The world needs more people like you, if you hadn’t stepped in, the kitten would have been put down.

I love animals, and to know that there are people like you makes me very happy. I hope that the kitten Sinbad grows up to be a happy kitty. ^.^

    He’s so cute~! I want to hug him. X3

Wow. You’re such a good person. In your other video, he looks just like my old cat 🙂 When will dog fanatics get it through their skulls that pitbulls are a working breed and not a pet? Only then can we have laws that keep them out of the hands of thugs, as well as from going nuts even in the care of good owners. They should be only be kept in kennels and put to work killing and herding other animals, where they can satisfy their instincts! I would no more keep one than a tiger…

God bless you for your kindness to little Sinbad. I certainly hope he is an indoor only kitty. There are too many perils outside and since he is slightly impaired he’d fare better if kept indoors. The black kitty is beautiful too.

I don’t know much about the situation, but I urge you to type “pittbull kitten” into the youtube search engine and you will be overwhelmed by cuteness. From what I can see so far, the idiot owner might have had more to do with this than the breed of the dog.

I am more disgusted with the Vets (the so-called professionals) than i am with the idiot dog owner. That clinic where they neglegted that poor suffering animal needs to be investigated. Thats bullshit!!!!!! Report it to PETA or whoever you can. And good for you – God will Bless you with many miracles/favours for your good deed. Whaat goes around comes around. Peace out!

Yes we kept Sinbad. I got “stuck ” with 2 more this year. The white female with one eye, half a tail skinned off and indocent ulcers on her lips. She has to have a DEPO shot every 3 months to keep the ulcers away. I couldnt release her in her delicate health. She had blood work and is aids/leuk free.I also have a feral I cannot release back where I trapped her as someone is poisoning the cats there. She had 5 kittens we tamed and found homes for.

I was not at the scene of the attack. Witnesses say the kitten was in the pitbull’s mouth and the owner was not doing anything about it until the witnesses screamed at him that they would call the police. The kitten was released from the dogs mouth by the onwer hitting the dog and then the owner ran off with his dog. These are the only details I have of the attack.

Thats one lucky little kitten. Theres nothing new about a large dog biting a cat though. It is certainly not a pitbull only thing. My cat is on my bed with my 2 pitbulls right now. A couple years ago she was attacked by some lab looking dog that was roaming my yard. It happens. Just animals being animals. Luckily I was outside at the time. Trying to make it into some kind of anti-pitbull message is very ignorant. It just feeds lunatics like makanopsis1 with more fuel to spew hate and lies.

I must disagree with “animals being animals” or NORMAL If a dog is out to kill. Any dog that is actually out to kill a small animal will attack and kill an infant or small child. Any dog that would pursue to kill should not be in a home with an infant and poses a danger to all small pets, not just cats. Such dogs will attack and kill leashed small breed dogs being walked by thier owners. It is disturbing that owners of large dogs assume that it is just normal for a dog to kill .

2 of my dogs kill opossums and raccoons in my yard when ever they get a hold of one. The one that is the most intense about it (I haven’t been able to get there fast enough to stop her yet, the other one will stop if she sees me running at her) is asleep under a blanket with a cat right now. She goes to the dog park everyday and likes kids better than adults. Do some research on soundly bred game pitbulls and you may learn something, instead of sounding like a fox news anchor.

@fatguyonthc I would hope you meant a well “trained” dog with many hours of professional training. Am I correct to assume that you would not mean to leave it to the natural instinct of a “soundly bred dog of any breed” to decide what “game” is

One last word- Any “untrained’ dog who kills small animals has potential to be dangerous to infants and small pets, even if this means mostly infants and small pets not part of their own family, but we also all know the news reports that they also can kill within thier own family.

I thank god for people like you in this world <3
Pitbulls are unnatural creatures. Even tamed they have the compability to turn on you… I should know I was attacked by one when I was 12.
It's a miracle the kitten got away with such minor wounds compared to the damage it could have done…
Hope Sinbad is at full health =)

He is a little tiger isnt he, even with that leg all broken in so many places. He grew up to be a very gentle sweet little guy.

Fact is a PITTTBULL attacked the kitten. No blame, just fact. It was not a shepard nor a lab, nor husky, nor aussie, nor minpin. Someone in the United States is killed by a pit bull every 14 days. One body part is severed and lost in pit bull attacks every 5.4 days. Are all shepard owners good? Are all lab owners good? Are all husky onwers good? I am sick of hearing that pittbull owners are bad. THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE BREED. How many more people must die before ownership laws?
