Lion Visits MSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital For MRI

The Michigan State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital took care of a 490 pound male lion, named Docha, on June 17th, 2011. Docha, came to the the VTH from the John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Docha had recently experienced Grand Mal Seizures, so the VTH’s large, open bore MRI made perfect sense. It is one of the few MRI machines in the entire country that can fit an animal of that size. Docha also received an ultrasound and full physical examination while at the Hospital..
