Online pet retailer, Chewy.com, has expanded into another realm of the pet industry this week.
On July 2, 2018, they announced the introduction of Chewy Pharmacy, a one-stop online pharmacy for prescription pet medications. They explain in a Facebook post, “Getting your pet’s medication is easy and affordable. Best of all, our licensed pharmacists will take care of the back-end work, so you can spend more time with your furry friend!”
Chewy Pharmacy currently offers over-the-counter medications, veterinary prescription foods, heartworm prevention, dewormers, and flea and tick prevention. It also offers pet parents the opportunity to order their pet’s prescription medications online.
Their available prescription medications include pain relief and arthritis management medications, antibiotics, insulin and diabetes medications, behavior and anxiety medications, thyroid and hormone medications, allergy medications, and seizure and epilepsy medications, just to name a few.
To make ordering your prescriptions through the site hassle-free, pet parents can mail in their pet’s medication prescriptions, or Chewy will contact the prescribing veterinarian directly and gather all the information they need.
With this new feature, Chewy conveniently offers pet supplies, toys, food and now prescription pet medications all in one place.
