Therapy dogs were sent to comfort the people of Squirrel Hill in Pittsburgh following a shooting at the area’s largest and best-known synagogues, according to The Hill.
The Go Team, an active group that oversees therapy dog teams, sent 13 certified therapy dogs from Pittsburgh and Youngstown, Ohio to Squirrel Hill in order to provide support for the surrounding community. The dogs arrived early Sunday morning and set up shop on the corner of Murray and Wilkins avenues, providing comfort to passersby.
“We’re just here to support the community,” Lisa Pierce, a member of the Go Team from Brentwood, tells Tribune Review.
Dogs of all breeds and sizes were present, including a Bloodhound, a Mini American Shepherd, an American Cocker Spaniel and a Golden Doodle.
