Top 10 Ways Veterinarians Infuriate Their Technicians

Though Dr. Andy Roark doesn’t condone such behaviors, he dug up the top 10 ways veterinarians infuriate their technicians—from, you know, other doctors. But not him!

not gonna say that one of the doctors I work with is exactly like this…because I would never say that. Ever. Just imply through denial.

I wish some of the places I worked at have seen this video!!!! I know how these are! SMH. A BIG one is the vet getting in the techs way! Some of the vets I worked with would hold up the rooms even though they were done and they were talking about vacations and stuff. But I DO KNOW what it’s like to be taught something or know something and not being allowed to do it! UGH

Top way veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and veterinary assistants infuriate people who care about the English language?  Pronounce ‘veterinarian’ as ‘vetrinarian’.

I hate when they pass off difficult conversations to the techs.

These are some of the traits of all shitty bosses, not just veterinarians. If your boss does these things to you, you need a new job.

I was in CVT school for about a year. I learned a lot about VedMed, but I fell in love with it so much that I decided I just didn’t want to be a technician, I wanted to be a DVM. So, dropped out. I went back to a junior college which I’m almost done with, and transferred my major over to Animal Sciences. I still have a long way to go before applying to Vet School, but I’m so stoked. I feel like I’ve found something that I’m passionate about, and want to do for the rest of my life. I still go ack and study my tech books all the time.
These videos are really funny. It’s everything they warned us about. 😛

That being said, techs are SUPER important, and they work really hard. Even though the year I spent in Tech school didn’t help me get any closer to Vet School, I feel like it’ll make me a better DVM in the long run.
