The needle looks bent after taking it out from the lavender topped tube – bent needles will promote hemolysis – NOT good for HCT measurements

Just wondering why vets prefer syringe draws rather than a vacutainer type system. I need to run some pre-surgical labs on my dog and will use a 22 ga butterfly system for collection. I am a human medical technologist and just want to save $$$ since I have the best and latest instruments at my disposal. For pre anesthesia I was thinking renal panel, liver, basic metabolic and cbc w/diff, any others?

Dont squirt blood directly into the bottom of the serum seperators. It causes unnecessary hemolyzation and lowers the quality of the sample. Run it down the side by inserting at an angle.
