Why Veterinarians Discourage Raw Diet..They Think Owners Are Stupid

Vets never recommend raw diet..this is why. They think you are too stupid to comprehend that your dog or cat needs more calcium than you

I used to feed my cats with wellness core and evo both dry and canned food. They are having loose stool on and off. Till I came across raw feeding on the net, I decide to switch to 100% raw. My cats loose stool problems stop in the 1st few days of raw feeding. I dont face any issues transitioning witinin 2 to 3days. What i feed: Cutted chicken with bones, gizzard, some skin and liver.

Should be pretty straightforward. You don’t see people eating shit that’s been so over processed that it comes in a shit colored dry pellet that we consume for daily sustenance. So why feed dogs that? Give em what our species have been feeding for thousands of years, the real food, not fucking kibble.

I totally agree with bro . I took my pup on a puppy preschool course run by the local vet that was surprise surprise sponsored by Hills . They gave us a coupon book for hills food and stood up there and went on and on about not feeding raw diet . Well I feed my staffy pup a raw and home cooked diet and he is huge!, so much bigger than a standard staffy and he is so happy and full of life . This man is 100% correct about everything people all the vets are controlled by pet food companies to sell pet food!. I suggest for the good of your dog listen to him!.

You are so right, this the thing fundamentally speaking dogs are meant to digest raw meat, millions of years ago despite the cross breeding and the domestication by nature and evolution they are meant to eat raw meat. If anything I feel that they should eat it all the time 100% eating those chemical foods can cause them stomach pain and really mess up their digestive system. Also it’s not expensive to buy raw meat compare to company food.

What if I fed a dog all the same foods I ate (I cook all my food at home and do not use processed box foods) but excluding seasonings? I mean to avoid the potential salmonella deal.

Just feed em red meat. Lower chance of carrying salmonella.

Dog food and pet vaccines are poisonous. They’re animals. They can handle everything.

My rottie was on a raw diet all her life, she helped herself to grapes off the grapevine and blackboy peaches that hung on the tree or had fallen onto the ground. Never did she go to the vet apart from when she got spayed and she was healthy and slim with no oral disease or bad breath, died peacefully at the age of twelve years.

Read the book by Aussie Vet Ian Billinghurst “Give Your Dog A Bone’ he was ostracised for stating that dogs should be on a BARF diet and should NEVER eat commercial dog food unless you want a dog that is in ill health with dental problems, bad breath, obesity, kidney failure cancer and so on.

At the end of the day what you feed you dog is up to you and what sort of life you want it to have.

My cat eats tuna (she goes crazy for tuna), sardines and loves cheese as treats. It’s not because a person has the initials “M.D.” next to his/her name or certificates hanging on their wall that it makes them smart. They only tell you what they were taught in school and they sell you what they’ve been told to sell you. Cats and dogs are carnivores and in the wild, they would hunt for fresh wild animals. They would never go for cereal/grass, fruits and veggies! They’re not rabbits!

Omg, I fuckin love you!! You have opened my eyes, my God I can’t wait to go shopping n start my Pitt on a raw diet!! Sir, you are a genius. I always thought about a raw diet because all dogs come from wolves and wolves have been eating raw since the dawn of creation. You are so right when you say vets are in a dog food companies pocket! Thank you so much for answering my questions and opening my eyes! I have a two year old pit bull named Kya.

I like my vet, I must say; he is an exellent surgeon and a very agreeable person. But yes, he thinks my husband and I are wrong about raw food. He is about our age and we have been in contact for the last 20 years. I have met all his pets. I used to think back in the day that his animals were lucky for having him around because they could have all the treatments and vaccines available (we skipped vaccinations very often). Well, all the vet’s pets have died years ago due to cancer, mainly and mine are still around. That has given me something to think about lifestyles, medical treatments and specially food.

I am so ashamed to admit that for years I trusted shop food for dogs ,,,, then my dog got diabètes and she wouldnt eat her food so I changed for raw meat, egg shells, eggs etc ,,, saw a video on what goes into processed dog food !! absolutely disgusting ,,, my dog is super skinny but she has lots of energy ,, she is blind and has huge injections each day but she has survived . The vet had said it was the end and leave her to die peacefully. Raw food is a lot of work but its so Worth it !!!!!

Should of ended the first part short. Dog food can already have salmonella in it so being on chicken means nothing.

Spot on and well said! You soon adapt to raw feeding. Read, read and read more and adjust the raw diet as you learn more if necessary. In my opinion vets can’t suddenly recommend raw over commercial as if animal parents became aware of the ailments foods the vet has previously promoted cause THEY WOULD SUE THE VET. Read up on how the canine digestive system works and you will soon see that bacteria is dealt with naturally by the dogs digestive system.

This was so informational for me! My dog has a hernia from excessive vomiting. We still don’t know the cause, but with her recent endoscopy, the vet saw she had a dilated hiatal sphincter. Not knowing if this was what caused her vomiting in the first place or if it was secondary to the vomiting. She’s on meds to keep her from throwing up. With that endoscopy, they also found she she had a bacterial and yeast infection in her ears. Meds for that…This explains the constant itching I would often bring up to the vet….he prescribed allergy meds!! I’m looking in to a raw food diet for sure.

The household I grew up in was more of a half-in for raw/processed dog food. A large part of their diet is raw meats and vegetables, and two of them are full heads taller and much larger than their litter mates. I think the difference was the quality of their diet compared to the others. (which I guarantee you got the cheapest dog food there is) Deer season is probably their favorite time because they’re given some of the meat as well as the bones from the animals.

I’m switching my dogs diet to raw very soon. (This weekend actually when I’m off work & the butchers will actually be open) Our dog suffers from skin allergies, itchy armpits, itchy feet, itchy ears, and all my vet is interested in is pumping her full of steroids & doing a “food trial” which would render her uninsurable & could cost up to £1000! Absolutely no way! Our vet’s clinic is full to bursting with Royal Canin merchandise too -__- I love these no-nonsense videos, thanks for uploading!!
