Husky Service Dog Becomes Hero for Rescuing Abandoned Kittens

In Menlo, Georgia, a Husky service dog called Banner began tugging on her owner’s dress and acting distressed while outside their home earlier this month. Her owner, Whitney Braley, knew that her dog was trying to tell her something, and followed her to the nearby woods.

According to the Daily Mail, while sniffing around the woods, Banner found a box and immediately dove in with her nose to open it up. When she pulled her head out, the hero Husky was holding a tiny little white kitten. Braley then opened the box completely to find six more abandoned kittens that could not be older than a day.

Braley knew that neither she nor Banner could leave the abandoned kittens there, so they brought them home to care for them. Once safe back at their home, Banner’s maternal instincts took hold as she began cleaning, cuddling and napping with the seven orphan kittens.

To help ensure that these orphan kittens have the best chance for a happy and healthy life, Braley has decided to keep them until they are old enough for adoption. While Banner always keeps a watchful eye on her new foster kittens, she does allow a mother cat to come feed and care for the kittens as well.

Braley tells the Daily Mail, “But I’m so happy that now because of Banner, these kittens will go on to live their lives with loving families. It warms my heart.”
