Puppy’s Eyes and Mouth Glued Shut in Disturbing Act of Animal Cruelty

A shocking discovery was made in late February in Wichita, Kansas: an 8-month-old puppy was abandoned by the side of the road with her eyes and mouth superglued shut.

According to a Facebook post from rescue organization Beauties & Beasts, a Good Samaritan found the puppy in dire condition and immediately brought her to Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital of Wichita for care.

The Jack Russel/Parsons Terrier mix, who has since been named Glory, had ulcerations on her eyes, a tear in her lip and large brusing to her abdomen when she arrived at the vet, according to the post, but is expected to make a full recovery. The veterinary staff, who cared for Glory for four days, concluded that she was likely suffering for up to 48 hours before she was found.

In addition to raising money for Glory’s care, the rescue, along with the Sedgwick County Animal Control, are offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the abuse.

The shocking story caught the attention of local news affiliate KAKE, who had Glory and a staff member from Beauties & Beasts on their morning show. It was revealed that the pup (who looked happy and healthy on the segment) is currently being cared for in a home environment, but she still has glue all over her body and will continue to lose hair as a result.

While the pup may have permanent damage to her eyes (it’s too early to tell), Glory’s resilience has already inspired all those around her to give her the life she has always deserved.
