@vetwannabelovemycat Hey, just a quick bit of advice for you. Make sure you get a job or volunteer with a veterinarian. When I was in high school, I was a volunteer at ADOPT(Animals Deserving of Proper Treatment) for 3 years, but when you’re competing for vet school, a letter of recommendation from a veterinarian will be very helpful. I’m currently a junior in animal sciences with a focus on pre-veterinary medicine at UIUC.

Just a bit of friendly advice! 🙂

@1brandonfan I was advised in college to do a double major of pre-vet med and biology, since I only needed to add in a few more classes to get the bio degree. On the chance that you don’t make it into vet school, the biology degree opens doors to other career paths and masters programs. My college did away with the pre-vet major because students who didn’t get into vet school were having trouble finding other options. It’s very competitive, and it doesn’t hurt to have a back up plan.
