Wow, I would never enter vet school after watching this undecided man talk about it.

He seems ambivalent to his own profession.

No it’s not. Vets are notorious for over testing and over vacinating. And their mark up on meds is astronomical. I don’t go to them anymore, and I don’t over feed my dogs like 90% of americans. So many people in this country have the type of love that mains, and vets are going to the bank on them. Feed your animal less, they need not be obese like 38 % of the people in the US.

Spoken like a real loser. Only a coward talks tough on the internet. Unlike human medicine, no costs are subsidized by insurance. Hence, the expense. Vets perform diagnostic tests because their patients can not talk. You can always decline tests or treatment. That is always your choice. Now, that is not to say that there are no bad apples in the veterinary profession. There are crooks in any profession. But, over generalizing only makes you look like an idiot. So, think before you speak.

Vets over test, heart worm etc… all to increase there bottom line. Here’s a good story. I was mountain biking with a dog. She was in great shape. The vet told me she was a little “ribby” and that I could feed her more. 6 months later, the vet was telling me I could feed her less. If your dog ain’t obese, vets think they have a problem. It’s America!

If my comments are so “single minded”, why are you responding to them? Are you “single minded” too?

I happen to agree with vardamin. You’re good a name calling, but can you back it up? Who’s the “pure ignorant idiot”?

Ok, it’s corporate america, a crisis of profligacy. I get it…. Sorry, I guess I have a terrible attitude. I did go to college. And I’ve been avoiding my vet. He enjoys my dogs very much, and I think he understands. I know he’s got to pay the bills, but don’t we all?

well would you rather your vet not test and end up misdiagnosing your dogs? Vets have to test properly otherwise they risk harming the animals. And vets don’t over vaccinate, they vaccinate dogs for diseases they need to be vaccinated for. If you don’t like it don’t go, you don’t have to take your dogs to the vet but its better for them if you do. The vet that I do work experience for purposely tries to make it cheaper for all the clients he sees, sometimes not even charging for consultations.

the vet that screwed me was not my own vet. He was unavailable at the time. There are a lot of people who vaccinate or treat their own dogs. We don’t spend a lot of money on our dogs and they look great. If one of my dogs has something seriously wrong with it, it is going to be put down. You got to be more specific about what you mean by ‘misdiagnosing’? How about that ivermectin for dogs? It is produced in large quantities for horses, cattle and swine at a fraction of the cost. Why not dogs?

@honeybear002 I doubt it……It’s odd for a child to want to cut up animals and even know what a vet is…at that age…I personally just think you keep saying this so you sound like you should become one.
